The Cake Order Confirmation Sheet
One page you fill in during the call and send back to the customer so the date, the cake and the money all say the same thing.
This is the working sheet that sits between a phone call and a finished cake. It is arranged in the order a real conversation moves: the date and the guest count first, because they decide whether you can take the job at all, then the cake itself, then allergens, then money and delivery. Bakers who ask about the retainer before the flavor lose the call.
Print a stack and keep them by the phone, or fill one in on a tablet while the customer is still talking. Either way the completed sheet becomes the ticket the decorator reads on Friday and the record you reach for when someone calls three weeks later to say they always wanted lemon.

How to use it
Work down the sheet in order while the customer talks. Date and servings come first because a full Saturday or a guest count you cannot cut for is the fastest honest no. The cake specification is next, then allergens while the customer still has the guest list in mind, then money and delivery once the cake is real enough to be worth paying for.
Once the sheet is complete it becomes the bench ticket. Copy it for the kitchen so the decorator sees flavors, fillings and the color reference without unlocking a phone, and keep the original with the confirmation reply. Filed sheets also make repeat business quick, since the same christening or birthday tends to come back a year later.

Questions about this document
Does this replace a contract for a wedding cake?
No. It is the working order sheet the whole shop reads. Keep a signed agreement for terms on large weddings and let this sheet carry the cake details, the dates and the allergen answers through to the bench.
How long should completed sheets be kept?
Keep them through the busy season at minimum and ideally a full year. Repeat customers order for the same birthday every year, so a filed sheet turns a fresh quote into a two minute call. Allergen answers are also worth having on record.
Can I use it for cottage food orders from a home kitchen?
Yes, and the allergen block matters more rather than less. State cottage food rules differ on what has to appear on the label and where you may sell, so add your own state wording to that section before you print.
When the sheets by the phone fill a folder
A completed confirmation sheet does its job right until there are forty of them in a drawer and a Saturday nobody can check quickly. TieredOrders asks the same questions on screen, keeps the flavor and filling per tier, the allergen wording and the balance due date on one order, and drops the event date straight onto the production calendar. Bring one of your filled in sheets to a demo and we will build it out from there.
